Sarah Faxon
Sarah brings more than 30 years of teaching experience—spanning homeschooling, competitive speech and debate, and online instruction—to every course she leads. After homeschooling her six children from kindergarten through high school graduation, she developed expertise in individualized instruction, tailoring her approach to each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style.
Her commitment to academic excellence extends beyond the home. For over 20 years, she has coached a competitive speech and debate club, guiding students to think clearly, argue persuasively, and communicate with confidence. She also studied early childhood education at American River College and California State University, Sacramento, gaining a strong foundation in how students learn at every stage.
For the past six years, Sarah has taught online tutorials, where she continues to refine her approach in a virtual setting. She designs and writes most of her own curriculum, creating original courses that are both rigorous and engaging.
Her love of history, the richness of the English language, and the discipline of logic and critical thinking shape each course she teaches. Whether leading discussions on literature or helping students develop their writing, her goal is to cultivate thoughtful, articulate learners who can express themselves with clarity and confidence—both in speech and in writing.
Alex Kauffman, DPT
Alex Kauffman brings a unique "STEM-to-Service" perspective to the classroom, blending high-level academic rigor with a lifelong passion for learning. With a foundational background as a math Honors student and an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology, Alex went on to earn his clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT). This clinical background allows him to teach math not just as abstract numbers, but as the functional logic used to understand the physical world—from biomechanical leverage to the complex ratios of human physiology.
Beyond his clinical and scientific credentials, Alex is a veteran educator who has been leading students since his own youth through programs like Child Evangelism Fellowship and High School Youth Ministry. As a dedicated homeschool father, he and his wife have a passion for teaching the richness and beauty of God’s creation to the next generation. For Alex, science and mathematics are pictures of God’s logical order in the world, and a glimpse of the consistent character of God. Alex doesn’t just teach formulas; he draws on his deep background in science and faith to help students develop the mathematical stamina and disciplined intuition necessary for success in honors-level academics and beyond.
